Course Details
This qualification reflects the role of highly skilled senior operators who use a broad range of hospitality skills combined with managerial skills and sound knowledge of industry to coordinate hospitality operations. They operate independently, have responsibility for others and make a range of operational business decisions.
This qualification provides a pathway to work in any hospitality industry sector as a departmental or small business manager. The diversity of employers includes restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafs, and coffee shops. This qualification allows for multiskilling and for specialisation in accommodation services, cookery, food and beverage and gaming.
No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

There are no entry requirements for this qualification.To successfully complete this course, you will need: to complete these activities and assessments in the allocated time frame. There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, students must be over 17 years of age to meet Liquor and Gaming requirements to undertake RSA and RCG training. Students must be over the age of 18 years to sell and provide alcoholic beverages or work in gaming. This qualification provides a pathway to work in organisations such as restaurants, hotels, motels, accommodation properties, clubs, resorts or other hospitality businesses. You need to be working in industry or be available to work in our apprentice restaurant to complete the practical unit assessments.

STUDY COMMITMENT
This is a flexible blended course. You will need to attend approximately 0.8 hours of class over 1 day a week for 2 years.
As well as the in-class component, there is 13.1 hours of other study a week.
You can also expect approximately 2.3. hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including private study, research, and assignment preparation.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

PAYMENT OPTIONS AND ASSISTANCE
This course is approved for a Commonwealth VET Student Loan (VSL). If you meet the VSL eligibility and academic suitability requirements, you are able to apply to the Commonwealth for a loan to cover all or part of your course fee. We will ask you whether you would like to apply for a VET Student Loan when you enrol and advise you of the process.
ADDITIONAL RESOURCES
You will need to provide for yourself the following resources, which you will keep when you complete your study: you will need to pay for your Responsible Service of Alcohol Competency card $85 and $40 for the RCG competency card at present but this may change without notice from the Office of Liquor and Gaming).
