Course Details

This qualification reflects the roles of individuals delivering training and assessment services in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.

This qualification (or the skill sets derived from units of competency within it) is also suitable preparation for those engaged in the delivery of training and assessment of competence in a workplace context, as a component of a structured VET program.

The volume of learning of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is typically six months to two years.

Achievement of this qualification by trainers is a requirement of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015.

Those entering this program must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.
INFORMATION SESSION

If you have further questions about your program of study, you are welcome to attend an orientation session on Tuesday, 25 June 2019 between 1:00pm to 3:00pm or 5:00pm to 7:00pm Sydney Region TAFE, Meadowbank Campus, See Street, Meadowbank, Building J, Level 2, Room 24.

Your first class will start the week beginning 29, July 2019.

MORE ABOUT THIS COURSE

This qualification is designed for those with industry qualifications and work experience wanting to progress to a training role. Enrolment is by application. You will need to provide your current resume including details of current qualifications and work experience. You must have access to a workplace where you can deliver training or assessment to a workplace group of 8 or more participants.

This is a rigorous and demanding course that requires a commitment to attending each face to face class (10 hours per week). In addition you are expected to complete an estimated 8-10 hours per week on online activities, assessments and additional study.

You will need to attend approximately 10 hours of class a week over 3 days per week for 36 weeks. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Mondays and Wednesdays 5:00pm to 9:00pm and Tuesdays 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
