Course Details

This qualification reflects the roles of individuals delivering training and assessment services in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.

This qualification (or the skill sets derived from units of competency within it) is also suitable preparation for those engaged in the delivery of training and assessment of competence in a workplace context, as a component of a structured VET program.

The volume of learning of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is typically six months to two years.

Licensing/Regulatory Information
Achievement of this qualification by trainers is a requirement of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience your fee may decrease from the maximum shown.
Payment by instalment may also be available. Your fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

In addition to your course fee, there may be some additional charges to cover the costs of undertaking this training.

Costs associated with work experience and field trips such as food, transport and accommodation are at the students own expense.

Those entering this program must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.

Those entering this program must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.

Access and use of a computer as well as fast internet connection is a requirement to successfully completion this qualification. Individual student support is available 2 hours per week. You can expect to do an additional 5 hours per week of self-directed learning activities, which may include researching information relating to unit, review notes/student guides and recordings, plan and organise assessments ready for submission within your workplace environment.

Students can contact the trainer to organise additional tutorial support, this can be one-to-one, small group or in the learning/study centre.


A message for young people under 17 years of age - If you are under 17 years and wish to enrol you will need to have completed Year 10 or have special permission from school and TAFE NSW to do so.
This course is currently scheduled on Monday, for 2 hours via online Adobe Connect and Thursday, 9.00am to 5.00pm.
