This course is for those who work in the electrical supply industry, installing and maintaining underground cables and associated equipment.
You will acquire the skills and knowledge needed for a career in the Electricity Supply Industry. The scope of this qualification covers: cable jointing such as the laying, installation and maintenance of de-energised Low Voltage and High Voltage underground polymeric cables and the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment. Options are available for skills to be obtained for energised cables and or Low Voltage and High Voltage paper insulated cables.
This course is superseded. You can still enrol in this course, and you will be contacted if you need to transition into the next version when it is available.
There are no information sessions currently scheduled for this course.
This is a part time day, face to face delivery course. You will need to attend approximately 8 hours of class, once a week for 4 years.
You may also be required to complete approximately 8 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including Workplace Experience.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

A fee applies for most TAFE NSW courses and must be paid when you enrol. The amount you pay depends on the type of course you study, and on your personal circumstances. An initial payment of $80 is required to confirm your enrolment into this course. If you do not wish to continue with your enrolment, you must formally advise Customer Service of your withdrawal.
