Apprentice fee capped at $2,000.

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government, and as a result your fee is determined through Training Services NSW formal eligibility criteria. This criteria will determine your exact fee. Students who meet additional specified criteria, may be eligible for a concession fee or a fee exemption. In claiming the concession or exemption students will be required to supply the required evidence to support the claim in accord with the requirements of Smart and Skilled eligibility.

Students who are eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and/or credit transfer from previous study will have their fee adjusted to reflect this. The amended fee will be confirmed by Training Services NSW and will be reflected in the adjusted Student Fee Statement.

Payment Plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications. Students should refer to the Instalment Plan options for relevant details.

To activate your eligibility you must pay the student fee component PRIOR to commencement of learning activity.

Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of barbers who use a range of well-developed sales, consultation and technical skills and knowledge to provide a broad range of barbering services to clients. They use discretion and judgement to provide client services and take responsibility for the outcomes of their own work.

This qualification provides a pathway to work as a barber in any industry environment, usually a barber shop or salon.

No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

This course is for Barbering Apprentices Only working in the Hairdressing Industry. Students must be employed as an Apprentice to enrol in this course. Students must wear closed in shoes with a wipeable surface and a work uniform. On the first day, you will be greeted by your calssroom teacher...

This course is for Barbering Apprentices Only working in the Hairdressing Industry. Students must be employed as an Apprentice to enrol in this course.

Students must wear closed in shoes with a wipeable surface and a work uniform. On the first day, you will be greeted by your calssroom teacher. Students will participate in an orientation and induction, outlining course requirements, students rights and responsibilities and safety requirements. Students will also receive a topic and asessment guide outlining dates of units of study and all assessment requirements.

Students MUST be employed as an Apprentice to attend this class. Students MUST complete a total of 26 units. This will include 21 core units and 5 electives. Electives will be selected in consultation with each individual Salon. Each learner will have their own training plan which will be developed by The Hairdressing department.

This course is for Apprentices Only. Students must be employed as an Apprentice to enrol in this course.

Attendance
Apprentices Only: Attendance will be every Monday 9am to 5pm at TAFE NSW Albury in F Block in the Hairdressing Salon.The class teacher will provide a detailed timetable with delivery and assessment dates.
