The TAFE Statement in NSW Liquor Licensee course helps you meet liquor licence requirements and become a successful and compliant licensee, approved manager or club secretary. Industry demand

The hospitality industry has been steadily growing over the past five years at around 1.9%. This growth can be attributed to the burgeoning foodie culture, population growth and an increase in consumer demand. Employment in the industry is set to increase by 12.1% in the next five years, which means an additional 91,000 jobs.

To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you:

  • have completed the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) course and hold current NSW RSA competency
  • completing the course will automatically renew your RSA endorsement for a further 5 years
  • if you hold a NSW RCG endorsement you are required to complete the refresher training with us and your RCG endorsement will be added to your new Competency Card. This will align with your Competency Card renewal dates.
  • alternatively, you can elect to surrender your RCG competency by completing a declaration to this effect

With 130 locations across the state, TAFE NSW tailors qualifications to meet the needs of the local community and specific student groups (like apprentices, fast-tracked and online students).

Advanced Licensee training is an additional course for those who may operate a business in a higher risk environment, such as venues that trade regularly after midnight.

The courses is mandatory for:

  • Licensees and approved managers applying for a new liquor licence or transfer of existing Licence to another person or premises from 1 September 2018
  • Existing Licensees and approved managers from 1 April 2019, aligned to the renewal of their existing NSW competency card
