Wollongong City Council

AMEP Migrant Youth Group logo

Illawarra Institute recently partnered with Wollongong City Council Youth Workers for the delivery of two AMEP Migrant Youth programs. It provided students with English language skills and focused on pathways over three days. An additional day was spent at the Wollongong Youth Centre which covered things such as accessing public transport, visiting public libraries and art galleries, and bicycle riding. For some of the students, aged between 18 and 24 and from countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan and Iran, this was the first time they had undertaken these activities.
