The iconic Australian Department store David Jones and Sydney TAFE's St George School of Fashion work together to support emerging fashion designers to launch their careers in the Australian fashion industry.

In October 2014, David Jones hosted the Advanced Diploma of Fashion Design final "Signature Collection" on Seven. An industry panel that consisted of some of the most influential figures in fashion including Donna Player, David Jones Group Executive of Merchandising; Sophia Clarke, Womenswear General Manager at David Jones; Petta Chua, Vogue Australia; and Tarek Kourhani, Senior Designer at Design.27 and Sydney TAFE alumni, was enthusiastic and excited about the next generation of designers.

The Diploma of Applied Fashion and Technology students also presented their "Capsule Collection" to Alix Manning Davis, David Jones buyer, Jasmine Pulbrook, Senior Designer The Apparel Group and Matthew Eager, CEO of Matthew Eager.

The Diploma of Fashion and Textile Merchandising presented Fashion Business strategies at the exhibition. The fashion industry requires highly skilled people who have passion and drive with a strong understanding of how the industry works and who live and breathe its heart and soul.
