Brad Field began training at TAFE NSW – Riverina Institute to further his employment opportunities and increase his knowledge and skills in an industry for which he had great passion.
"I wanted to broaden my capabilities to enhance my employability skills," says Brad.
Getting a qualification was important for Brad who enrolled in a Certificate III Automotive Mechanical Technology at Wagga College.
"I looked at my short- and long-term goals and figured the best way to achieve them was to gain a TAFE NSW qualification."
Learning in an environment equipped with modern facilities while working on a wide range of engines and heavy vehicles has given Brad the confidence to get a head-start in the industry.
"Working in a supportive environment with trucks and different engine types make this an absolutely terrific course," says Brad.
The course teaches high-level knowledge and skills for the heavy vehicle road transport industry and, in particular, develops the expertise required to repair and maintain the mechanical systems and components of cars, motorcycles and heavy systems vehicles.
Surrounded by dedicated teachers who are knowledgeable about industry practice has enhanced his love of learning.
"The teachers are extremely helpful, know their trade and always seem to go the extra mile just to help out."
Brad has never looked back and encourages others to follow the TAFE pathway.
"You will never regret it and it is a benefit for life."Show me courses like this Back to student stories
