Trent Schumi

Trent from Hunter TAFE was awarded the 2015 Top Apprentice in the Vehicles Trade at the NSW Training Awards.

Since starting his career back in 2006, Trent has completed three trade courses. Thanks to the flexible delivery study offered by TAFE NSW, Trent attended night school to complete his Certificate III Automotive Mechanical Technology qualification.

Trent has won many academic awards for the duration of his trade. He was awarded first place in his academic trade course for three years, the Komatsu Apprentice of the Year four years consecutively, and the 2014 Komatsu National Apprentice of the Year.

He has represented his employer, Komatsu, and Hunter TAFE at various events including the 2012 innovation awards.

Trent has been actively promoting trade training at various events to encourage young people to consider a trade qualification.
