TAFE NSW is a child safe place

At TAFE NSW, every child has the right to be safe and feel safe. We’re committed to protecting the safety and wellbeing of every child in our care.

To keep children safe, we will:

• follow the NSW Child Safe Standards, National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and the NSW Child Safe Scheme
• provide a safe and supportive environment
• protect children from harm and abuse
• involve children in decisions that affect them
• support children to speak up about their worries and concerns
• make sure children know who to talk to if they feel unsafe or have concerns.

Our staff understand what it means to be a child safe organisation. This helps us prevent, detect and respond to child abuse.

When families and community members visit, we remind them that everyone plays a role in keeping children safe. We expect them to follow our child safe practices.

We make sure everyone at TAFE NSW knows how to respond to complaints, concerns, reports and breaches of our Code of Conduct [PDF 1,098KB] and Child Safe Policy [PDF 126 KB].
