Work placement

Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.

  • To be enrolled in this course offering, you need to be able to meet the following work placement requirements:

    • Minimum 120 hours of work placement at a TAFE approved allied health or relevant healthcare facility to demonstrate the required performance skills under the direction and supervision (direct, indirect, remote) as determined by a APHRA Registered physiotherapist.

    It is student's responsibility to secure their own work placement. Please contact the teaching section of you need further information on the work placement options. Additionally you may be required to attend various practical assessment via live virtual sessions or face to face workshops organised in Sydney to complete skills based assessments.

  • To successfully complete this course you will need:

    • To demonstrate skills in some various practical assessments. This may involve participating in roleplays which may be video recorded and the video submitted for marking.
    • Adult colleagues, friends or family members who are available and willing to participate in assessment role plays that are recorded and submitted for marking.
    • Recording equipment such as a camera or smart phone.
    • Access to Zoom or Microsoft Teams to be able to attend the live teaching and group virtual practical sessions.

Units Units taught in this course

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Physiotherapy) qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 16 Units of competency, including 7 core and 9 speciality units.

Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.

Course Delivery Studying Online

Choose when and where you study. Set your own pace, with all your study materials online, allowing you to manage your own workload. Access your learning management system 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This is a highly collaborative space that involves more than simply reading and consuming.

You will interact creatively with content, teachers and your peers, improving your overall engagement with the course. Teaching staff are available to provide you with support, enabling you meet your course outcomes.

You may need to attend a vocational placement, on campus assessment and/or a teacher might need to observe and assess you in a real or simulated environment. Online courses require access to a computer with an internet connection.
