    Assessments

    Assessments let you show what you've learned and check what you may need to work on.

    • Knowledge assessments: short answer, extended response, research tasks, multiple-choice questions, assignments.

    • Skills assessments: projects, case studies.

    • Practical skills assessments: demonstrations under observation.

    • Simulated workplace projects: scenario-based problem-solving.

    Work placement

    Work placement gives you real experience and develops your skills.

    • During your course you will undertake a mandatory 120 hours of work placement with a suitable industry employer.

    • Depending on your mode of study, TAFE NSW will arrange your work placement for you or support you to find one.

    • Polo shirt, long black pants and enclosed shoes at an estimated cost of $100

    • Access to a computer with a reliable internet connection, webcam and headset

    Units taught in this course

    Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Leisure and Health qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 17 Units of competency, including 10 core and 7 speciality units.

    Course delivery

    Combination study

    Learn through a combination of on-campus classroom, virtual classroom, online, and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled face-to-face or virtual classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.

    Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
