    Where you choose to live shouldn’t limit your access to education or career opportunities. The NSW Rural and Regional Mental Health Scholarship helps remote human services staff in NSW to pursue mental health studies. Get the qualification you need to pursue impactful roles in areas like community rehabilitation, community support, and mental health intake. TAFE Digital students from rural and regional NSW are encouraged to apply.

    There are 15 NSW Rural and Regional Mental Health Scholarships available in 2024. To be eligible, you must be enrolled in the Certificate IV in Mental Health (CHC43315-01) at TAFE NSW, working in a human services role (clinical or non-clinical), and based in regional or remote areas NSW.

    Each scholarship is worth up to $3,000 and helps with study, living, or other expenses incurred during the course. This includes leave without pay (LWOP), travel costs, and technology expenses.

    Who can apply?

    To apply for a NSW Rural and Regional Mental Health Scholarship, you must:

    • be enrolled in the Certificate IV in Mental Health (CHC43315) at TAFE NSW
    • be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder, or New Zealand citizen, and be living in NSW. Please read the Terms and Conditions on the application form for a list of eligible humanitarian visas
    • meet all Smart & Skilled eligibility criteria, specifically aged 15 years or older, and living or working in NSW
    • be employed within human services and working in regional and remote areas across NSW in either a clinical or non-clinical role. For example, staff working in administration, aged care or youth health roles, etc. Relevant volunteering experience will also be considered.
    • unless otherwise approved by TAFE NSW, you must be enrolled in and have commenced your approved VET course, Certificate IV in Mental Health (CHC43315) by the date published by TAFE NSW.
