Our strategic plan
Our 2022-2025 strategic plan outlines our goals to foster strong connections with industry, community, universities, schools and government.
Our impact
TAFE NSW partnered with Central West's local communities, government, and industry. Our joint efforts focused on giving people facing intergenerational unemployment the skills they needed to find work on regional infrastructure projects.
We consulted with community stakeholders to develop a pre-employment program. The program supported the learning and cultural needs of 12 Indigenous students.
This allowed them to:
- gain skills and knowhow that could serve the WaterNSW Lake Cargelligo Embankment Upgrade project
- earn a Certificate II in Construction.
As a result of this community partnership:
- 22% of the small community of 64 enrolled in the program
- 85.7% of enrolled students completed the course
- 8 students secured ongoing employment.

BlueScope
Industry partnership
This successful partnership between BlueScope and TAFE NSW is key to the ongoing development of a well trained workforce. TAFE NSW’s programs equip employees with the latest skills and knowledge through upskilling and specialised industry training.
Northern NSW Academic Health Alliance
Industry partnership
The Tweed Valley Hospital offers TAFE NSW a chance to work with other higher education institutions in the Northern NSW Academic Health Alliance. The hub supports vocational and higher education training and research, for students and hospital staff.
UTS Fashion School
University partnership
TAFE NSW and UTS partnered to establish the Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Fashion and Textiles. The initiative aims to grow the fashion industry’s capacity for sustainability through knowledge sharing, innovation, networking and advocacy.
Hawkeye Publishing
Aboriginal partnership
TAFE NSW and Hawkeye Publishing’s partnership preserves and promotes Aboriginal languages in NSW. The translation of children's books into different languages, offered digitally, improves teaching resources and actively celebrates Aboriginal Culture.
