Apply now for a Downer Rail and Manufacturing Scholarship

The Downer Rail and Manufacturing Scholarships support aspiring and existing rail and manufacturing professionals in the Hunter Valley and Western Sydney regions. Twelve eligible students will each receive a $1,000 scholarship to help fund their studies and pursue a career in the rail and manufacturing industries.

TAFE NSW encourages eligible students to apply. Previous rail or manufacturing experience is not required. We welcome applications from students of all backgrounds, including those new to the industry or considering a career change, and particularly encourage women and Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander peoples to apply.

Applications for the Downer Rail and Manufacturing Scholarship close at 11.59 pm (AEST) on Friday, 19 March 2027.

To be eligible for the Downer Rail and Manufacturing Scholarship, you must:

• be enrolled in, or planning to enrol in, an eligible TAFE NSW engineering or welding course
• live, work, or study in the Hunter or Western Sydney regions
• demonstrate a commitment to building a career in the rail and manufacturing industry
• be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder, or New Zealand citizen
