    ITSA Craig Walker Scholarship

    For plumbing students in the Illawarra, Shoalhaven, South East and Tablelands

    TAFE NSW Plumbing students and learning and teaching staff are invited to nominate TAFE NSW plumbing students who live or study in the Illawarra, Shoalhaven, South East, or Tablelands regions for the Craig Walker Scholarship.

    In 2026, this scholarship is awarded to up to two deserving students in recognition of their dedication and achievements as they prepare for a career in plumbing.

    About the ITSA Craig Walker Scholarship

    The ITSA Craig Walker Scholarship was established by the Illawarra TAFE Student Association to honour the memory of long-time Head Teacher of Plumbing, Craig Walker who passed away suddenly in 2023.

    A mentor and role model to many, Craig’s legacy is celebrated through this award which recognises plumbing students who exemplify his spirit of excellence.

    The scholarship is funded by an endowment from ITSA, an organisation that provided student services across the Illawarra, Shoalhaven, South East and Southern Tablelands regions from 1975 to 2023.

    Who can apply?

    Nominees will need to meet the following eligibility and selection criteria:

    • Be enrolled in a nationally accredited plumbing related course TAFE NSW in Semester 2, 2026.
    • Study or live within the Illawarra, Shoalhaven, South East or Tablelands regions.
    • Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen.
    • Demonstrate commitment to their studies, professionalism and self-discipline.
    • Demonstrate determination in achieving their plumbing study and career goals.
    • Display the traits to be an excellent representative and role model in the field of plumbing.
    • If the nominee is aged under 18 years, they may require permission from a parent or legal guardian in order to accept the scholarship - If a parent or legal guardian is not available, please contact ITSAgrants@tafensw.edu.au to discuss the options.
