    Apply for a Phyllis Arnott Equity Scholarship

    Phyllis Arnott (1907- 2002) was an Australian Artist wanting to financially support new and continuing students studying Creative Arts courses of Certificate III in Design Fundamentals/Ceramics (CUA30720), Diploma of Ceramics (CUA51220), Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts/ Ceramics Focus (CUA60720).

    There are 11 scholarships on offer to assist new and /or continuing students to achieve their educational and career goals in the Creative Arts industry by providing financial assistance to the value of up to $500 as contribution to related study expenses and/or living expenses.

    Who can apply?

    To be eligible for the Phyllis Arnott Equity Scholarship, applicants must:

    • Be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen, and be living in NSW;
    • Be studying an Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) accredited course at TAFE NSW; Be enrolled and studying one of the following courses at TAFE NSW Hornsby:
      • Certificate III in Design Fundamentals/Ceramics (CUA30720)
      • Diploma of Ceramics (CUA51220)
      • Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts/ Ceramics Focus (CUA60720)
    • Demonstrate educational disadvantage and financial hardship;
    • Demonstrate a commitment and motivation to study and successfully complete the course, and to gain employment;
    • Identify themselves with one or more of the following categories:
      • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
      • A disability, impairment or long-term medical condition or illness
      • Long-term unemployed (longer than 6 months) and seeking to re-enter the workforce
      • Centrelink benefit recipients/experiencing low socio-economic status
      • Youth at risk
      • Are experiencing or have experienced domestic and family violence
      • Are experiencing or at risk of homelessness
      • Living in rural or remote areas of NSW
    • Correctly complete ALL PARTS of the application form and attach all supporting documents
    • Additional Requirements:
      • Students under the age of 18 will require Parent/ Guardian consent.
      • The Equity Scholarships are NOT available for international students.
      • Employees of TAFE NSW are NOT eligible to apply.
