    Apply for a Phyllis Arnott Equity Scholarship

    Phyllis Arnott (1907–2002) was an Australian artist dedicated to supporting the next generation of creatives.

    In her honour, four scholarships valued at $500 each are available to help students cover study or living expenses.

    To be eligible, you must be a new or continuing student at TAFE NSW Hornsby enrolled in one of the following courses:

    • Certificate III in Design Fundamentals (Ceramics) – CUA30720
    • Diploma of Ceramics – CUA51220
    • Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts (Ceramic Focus) – CUA60720.

    Applications for the Phyllis Arnott Equity Scholarship are now closed.

    Who can apply?

    To be eligible for the Phyllis Arnott Equity Scholarship, you must:

    1. Enrolment & Residency
      • Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder, or New Zealand citizen living in NSW.
      • Be enrolled at TAFE NSW Hornsby in one of the following courses:
        • Certificate III in Design Fundamentals (Ceramics) (CUA30720)
        • Diploma of Ceramics (CUA51220)
        • Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts (Ceramics Focus) (CUA60720)
    2. Financial & Educational Disadvantage
      You must demonstrate financial hardship or educational disadvantage by identifying with at least one of the following categories:
      • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
      • Living with a disability, impairment, or long-term medical condition
      • Long-term unemployed (>6 months) and seeking to re-enter the workforce
      • Receiving Centrelink benefits or experiencing low socio-economic status
      • Youth at risk
      • Experiencing (or have experienced) domestic and family violence
      • Experiencing (or at risk of) homelessness
      • Living in a rural or remote area of NSW.
    3. Commitment
      • You must demonstrate motivation to successfully complete your course and gain employment.
      • You must correctly complete all parts of the application form and attach the required supporting documents.

    Exclusions & Conditions

    • International students and TAFE NSW employees are not eligible to apply.
    • Students under the age of 18 require Parent/Guardian consent.
