    Completion requirements

    During your study you'll need to provide your teacher with the following evidence:

    • A background check such as either an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), or a Job Ready ASIC issued by an approved ASIC issuing body. You need to be applying for or holding either of these background checks to be able to access security-restricted aviation content.

    Entry recommendations

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

    • checked the industry specific accreditation requirements with Department of Home Affairs (DoHA)

    • English language, literacy and communication skills to follow instructions and interact with passengers

    • basic digital skills to use computers or screening equipment.

    Licensing

    To work in transport security protection, you must hold a valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC). This requires passing a criminal history check and a security assessment. This is done by the Australian Government (AusCheck). You must also successfully complete the Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (AVI20325).
