During your study you'll need to provide your teacher with the following evidence:
A background check such as either an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), or a Job Ready ASIC issued by an approved ASIC issuing body. You need to be applying for or holding either of these background checks to be able to access security-restricted aviation content.
To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
checked the industry specific accreditation requirements with Department of Home Affairs (DoHA)
English language, literacy and communication skills to follow instructions and interact with passengers
basic digital skills to use computers or screening equipment.

To work in transport security protection, you must hold a valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC). This requires passing a criminal history check and a security assessment. This is done by the Australian Government (AusCheck). You must also successfully complete the Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (AVI20325).

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (Airport Screening Officer) qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 11 units of competency, including 4 core and 7 speciality units.
