    This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol.

    Traineeship

    • You must be employed as a trainee in the industry.

    • Your Apprenticeship Connect Australia Provider (ACAP) must submit your Training Proposal Plan (TPP).

    Completion requirements

    During your study you'll need to provide your teacher with the following evidence:

    • a Working with Children Check (WWCC)

    • a National Police Check

    • an NDIS check (NDISWC)

    • vaccination and health screening records

    • any additional evidence required by your work placement provider.

    Entry recommendations

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

    • the physical ability to provide 2 minutes of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid

    • access to a computer with a reliable internet connection.

    Our graduates go onto roles like: recreational activities officer, leisure and health support worker, diversional therapy assistant and community recreation activities assistant.

    Licensing

    For the unit HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid, there are licensing requirements you must follow. You should check with your state or territory work health and safety authority for refresher training requirements. You should refresh your cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills every year. You should renew your first aid qualification every 3 years.

    Units taught in this course

    Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Leisure and Health qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 17 units of competency, including 10 core and 7 speciality units.

    Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
