    Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

    • build your reading skills to enjoy reading and support your study and work goals

    • develop your writing skills to create resumes, emails and letters

    • improve your spelling, with a focus on everyday words

    • use basic maths to complete day-to-day tasks

    • complete common computer tasks such as emailing, web browsing and online banking

    • communicate clearly and confidently with your peers.

    Completion requirements

    During your study you'll need to provide your teacher with the following evidence:

    • Successful completion of all required assessments and classwork of a minimum of one and a maximum of 4 units of competency (from a total of 16 speciality units).

    • the drive to improve your reading, writing and numeracy skills

    • motivation to take part in daily activities that use your new skills
