Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.
To be enrolled in this course offering, you need to be able to meet the following work placement requirements:
Learners will be required to demonstrate skills in a pharmacy work environment or a simulated pharmacy environment. Learners will need access to computer, Internet, webcam, headset and a recording device (mobile phone).

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Community Pharmacy qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 19 Units of competency , including 11 core and 8 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
You will attend a TAFE NSW campus or Connected Learning Centre to connect with your teachers and other students in a virtual classroom where you will participate in learning activities via video or web conferencing technology. Much like a regular class, you will have scheduled times of attendance. Depending on what you are studying, your course may also include some online units or practice training though our network of Mobile Training Units.
TAFE NSW Cowra is located on Carleton Street near Bellevue Hill Reserve. As a major TAFE NSW campus in the Central West, TAFE NSW aims to provide innovative training aligned to job opportunities in the area. Specialty courses include agriculture, business, carpentry, computing, hospitality and welding, plus a wide range of certificate and diploma level vocational and general education programs.
