    Assessments

    • Knowledge assessments: quizzes, short answer questions, case studies, written tasks, research projects.

    • Practical assessments: manual handling, medication administration, wound care and activities of daily living.

    • Workplace assessments: written tasks, reflective journals, verbal or written questioning, practical demonstrations, workplace portfolio.

    Work placement

    Work placement gives you real experience and develops your skills.

    • You will undertake a mandatory 400 hours of work placement with a suitable industry employer. TAFE NSW will arrange your work placement with a suitable industry employer.

    Materials needed

    To complete this course, the following materials are required:

    • Scrub Top at an estimated cost of $45

    • Black Pants and Closed-in Shoes at an estimated cost of $100

    Units taught in this course

    Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Diploma of Nursing qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 25 units of competency, including 20 core and 5 speciality units.
