This course is currently scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with day classes. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
Assessments let you show what you've learned and check what you may need to work on.
Knowledge assessments: quizzes, short answer questions, case studies, written tasks, research projects.
Practical assessments: manual handling, medication administration, wound care and activities of daily living.
Workplace assessments: written tasks, reflective journals, verbal or written questioning, practical demonstrations, workplace portfolio.
Work placement gives you real experience and develops your skills.
You will undertake a mandatory 400 hours of work placement with a suitable industry employer. TAFE NSW will arrange your work placement with a suitable industry employer.
To complete this course, the following materials are required:
TAFE scrub top at an estimated cost of $70
Suitable work pants at an estimated cost of $50
Closed in, non-slip, waterproof black or navy shoes at an estimated cost of $50
Access to a computer with a reliable internet connection, webcam and headset

There are no additional requirements for this qualification.
Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Diploma of Nursing qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 25 units of competency, including 20 core and 5 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
Learn through a combination of on-campus classroom, virtual classroom, online, and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled face-to-face or virtual classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.
Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
