    Entry requirements

    This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol.

    • A teacher will contact you to make sure this is the right course for you. They may ask you to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLND) profile. This will ensure you’re placed into the right class and can access support if needed.

    • If you’re an early school leaver aged under 17 and do not have a Record of School Achievement (RoSA), you must contact the teaching section for more information.

    Entry recommendations

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

    • a willingness to learn skills you can use in the workplace

    • an interest in improving your computer and technology skills

    • an interest in improving your reading, writing, communication and maths.

    The following foundation skills:

    • You can read everyday texts and find important information.

    • You can write short sentences or lists to share information.

    • You can ask and answer questions in a simple conversation.

    • You can do everyday maths like working out prices or reading a timetable.

    • You can use email, search the internet and open files.

    Units taught in this course

    Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate II in Career Preparation qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 14 , including 0 core and 14 speciality units.

    Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
