Nominate now for a Henry Harding Memorial Award

Are you a teacher who knows a pathology student who deserves recognition? Play a crucial role in supporting a TAFE NSW Newcastle student each semester in 2025, by nominating them for this $1,000 award.

Pathology holds a significant place in medical education, whether during clinical or non-clinical years. This field of study and related courses offer a wide range of career opportunities. Endorsement from a head teacher and financial support can be transformative in helping students to successfully complete their studies.

In 2021, Chris and Annette Harding established the Henry Harding Memorial Award in collaboration with the Hunter TAFE Foundation to honour Henry, a remarkable former TAFE NSW student in pathology.

Nominations for the Henry Harding Memorial Award is now closed.

To be eligible for the Henry Harding Memorial Award, the student must:

• be enrolled at the TAFE NSW Newcastle campus in one of the following courses:
  • Certificate III in Pathology Collection (HLT37215)
  • Certificate III in Pathology Assistance (HLT37415)
  • Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (MSL40122)
  • Diploma of Laboratory Technology (Pathology) (MSL50122)
• be under the age of 35 as at 31 December 2026
• demonstrate commitment to their studies and career goals (you can provide evidence by listing achievements, skills or strengths)
• demonstrate positive academic values to represent TAFE NSW and the Hunter TAFE Foundation (you can provide evidence via grades, attendance records or character traits)
• not have received a scholarship from the Hunter TAFE Foundation in the 12 months prior to 23 March 2026.
