Nominate a student for the Josh Woolfson Memorial Encouragement Award

Ignite encouragement for students with electrical skills

    Electrotechnology teacher engaging with students

TAFE NSW teachers can nominate a deserving, post-trade electrotechnology student in the Newcastle, Hunter, or Central Coast regions for this award valued at $500 to support their studies and continued professional development in the electrotechnology industries.

Liz Woolfson established the Josh Woolfson Memorial Award in 2012 with the Hunter TAFE Foundation. It's a touching tribute to her late husband and his remarkable contributions to the industrial electronics industry.

Nominations for the Josh Woolfson Memorial Award close 5 pm (AEST) Wednesday, 2 September 2026.

To be eligible for a Josh Woolfson Memorial Award, the student must:

    • be enrolled in a post-trade electrotechnology qualification at TAFE NSW in the Hunter or Central Coast regions
    • demonstrate commitment to their study and career goals (you can provide evidence by listing achievements or identifying their strengths)
    • demonstrate positive academic progress, strong attendance, and align with TAFE NSW and Hunter TAFE Foundation values
    • not have received another award or scholarship from the Hunter TAFE Foundation or TAFE NSW in the last 12 months
