Apply now for a Regional Development Australia Hunter Aviation Award

Do you know a TAFE NSW student enrolled in Certificate IV in Aeroskills (MEA40618) in Newcastle, or Central Coast regions deserving of a flying start to their career? Nominate them for a Regional Development Australia (RDA) Hunter Aviation Award.

Established in 2023, the award is an extension of the partnership between TAFE NSW and RDA Hunter, aimed at fostering a skilled aviation workforce and driving economic growth in the region. Valued at $2,000, the award's assessment criteria include practical evaluation and teacher review.

Applications for a Regional Development Australia Hunter Aviation Award close at 5 pm (AEST) Wednesday, 2 September 2026.

To be nominated and apply for a Regional Development Australia Hunter Aviation Award, you must:

• be enrolled in the Certificate IV in Aeroskills (MEA40618-01) at TAFE NSW Newcastle (Tighes Hill)
• live and study in the Newcastle, Hunter, or Central Coast regions
• demonstrate commitment to your study and career goals (for example, by outlining your aspirations, listing achievements, or identifying your strengths)
• demonstrate a strong motivation to work in the aviation industry
• demonstrate positive academic progress, strong attendance, and align with TAFE NSW, RDA Hunter, and Hunter TAFE Foundation values
• be willing to participate in RDA marketing activities and events to share your learning journey
• not have received another scholarship or award from the Hunter TAFE Foundation or TAFE NSW in the last 12 months
