Nominate a student for a Sonia Walkom Memorial Award

Rewarding real estate students in Newcastle and Hunter areas

Teacher and students actively participating in a residential auction, gaining practical insights into the dynamics of the property market.

Nominations are now open for the Sonia Walkom Memorial Award.

This award recognises the dedication of students enrolled in the Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice (CPP41419) at TAFE NSW Newcastle, TAFE NSW Cessnock, TAFE NSW Maitland, or via TAFE Digital.

The award honours students who demonstrate exceptional attendance, self-discipline, and a strong interest in the real estate sector. Recognising these qualities helps boost student confidence and positively influences their future career prospects.

In 2015, Scott Walkom and the team at Walkom Real Estate established the award in partnership with the Hunter TAFE Foundation. It honours Sonia Walkom and her enthusiasm for continuous learning throughout her successful career.

Nominations for the Sonia Walkom Memorial Award close at 5 pm (AEDT) Friday, 20 March 2026.
