    Virtual classrooms at TAFE NSW

    alt=""

    Virtual classrooms bring learning to you, whether you're on campus or joining from home. They help you study in a way that fits your life.

    Each class, you’ll join your teacher and other students on a webinar using a platform such as Microsoft Teams. Your teacher will guide you through each topic and explain tasks, like they would in a face-to-face classroom.

    You'll have one-on-one support when you need help staying on track. Virtual classrooms also give you opportunities to connect and share ideas with other students online.

    What you’ll need

    • Access to a device. If you don’t have your own, you can use a computer on a TAFE NSW campus or borrow a laptop from our libraries.
    • A stable internet connection. If you don’t have one at home, your local TAFE NSW campus has reliable wi-fi you can use for free as a student.
    • A headset or headphones for clearer audio and fewer distractions.
    • A working webcam so your class can see you. This is usually built-in to modern devices. You can also use an external camera.

    Use our devices and internet

    If you don’t have access to reliable internet or a computer at home but can make it to a TAFE NSW campus, you can use our facilities. TAFE NSW libraries have computers you can use and laptops you can borrow using your student card.

    Check your nearest campus with a library to see if laptop borrowing is available. We also have free on-campus wi-fi.

    You may also be able to use the facilities at a Connected Learning Centre (CLC), if you have one nearby.

    CLCs offer flexible study options, technology access, and support from teachers and student services.
