    About this course

    Explore advanced financial advice with this microcredential. You’ll prepare a clear Statement of Advice (SOA) using practical financial planning strategies. These include wealth building, retirement planning, estate planning, tax considerations, social security and aged care.

    You’ll also learn how to work effectively with clients. This includes understanding client behaviour, privacy and ethical responsibilities.

    • A Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certificate for current advisers or those completing their Professional Year (PY). Check with your licensee to confirm CPD requirements.

    • Successful completion of a microcredential accredited by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA).

    Entry requirements

    This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol.

    You must meet one of the following requirements:

    • successful completion of the Diploma in Financial Planning, or

    • successful completion of a bachelor’s degree in any financial discipline.

    Note:

    • Your qualifications must be Australian or Australian-recognised and completed within the last 10 years.

    • You must provide certified copies of your certificates, transcripts and any other evidence. Certification must be completed by a Justice of the Peace or other authorised officer.

    • Attach all required evidence with your application to confirm you meet the minimum entry requirements and to support timely enrolment.

    Entry recommendations

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

    • reviewed the Australian Government Treasury’s Financial Adviser Standards

    • reliable internet access and a PC or laptop to access study materials and complete assessments

    • a commitment to working to ethical standards and an interest in a career in finance

    • an interest in helping others meet their financial goals.

    You do not require an ATAR score for entry into this course.

    If you are unable to meet the entry requirements, you may be eligible for special admission.

    Please continue with your application and you will be guided to identify as mature aged (at least 21 years old in your first year of study) or disadvantaged (disability, serious or chronic illness, interrupted education, lack of support for study, serious personal problems and/or serious family responsibilities).

    Licensing

    This microcredential meets the minimum education requirements for ethics and professional standards for financial planners, in line with the Financial Adviser Standards (FAS) set by the Australian Government Treasury.
