      • to be self directed in your learning
      • have good Internet access
      • be comfortable typing, using the Internet and email, chatting to your teachers or others online, reading course content online, using common software and uploading your assessments including video files.
    • You must be reasonably physically fit, as the tasks and activities involve handling animals and may involve manual lifting

    Entry recommendations

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you:

    • A passion for animals and their welfare

    • A reasonable fitness level to handle animals and carry out manual lifting

    • The ability to follow basic written instructions and complete tasks safely under supervision

    • Access to a computer or personal device and internet as it would be beneficial to complete home study

    • Appropriate clothing, which may include covered non-slip shoes, trousers and shirts for your classes. TAFE NSW will provide you with other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that is specific to animal care
