Entry requirements
This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol.
Before you start the course, you must complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) skills test. You must achieve a score of 3 in literacy and 3 in numeracy. This helps make sure the course is right for your skill level. Your teacher will let you know when to complete the test.
We may also accept students who are mature age and can show the LLND skills needed to complete the course. Mature-age students may be required to complete an LLND assessment.
Completion requirements
During your study, you'll need to provide your teacher with the following evidence:
a general construction induction card (white card). You must have a white card before you can enter a construction site.

Units taught in this course
Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 19 units of competency, including 11 core and 8 speciality units.
Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
