Entry requirements
This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol.
Successful completion of the Certificate III in Apparel, Fashion and Textiles. You’ll need to show your certificate or transcript as proof.
Skills, knowledge and experience equivalent to the Certificate III in Apparel, Fashion and Textiles. You’ll need to show a portfolio of work and take part in a short telephone interview.

During your study you'll need to provide your teacher with the following evidence:
Entry recommendations
To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
an interest in working backstage in theatre or television
an interest in costume design and production
basic sewing skills, access to a sewing machine outside the college and an understanding of patternmaking
the ability to pay approximately $400 to cover costume and garment material costs
the ability to work during intensive production weeks
basic computer skills and access to a computer with internet
the ability to manage self-paced and self-directed study.

Units taught in this course
Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Live Production and Technical Services (Costume) qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 16 units of competency, including 4 core and 12 speciality units.
