<p>There are no nationally uniform laws regulating the use of lasers, intense pulsed light (IPL) devices and LED phototherapy in the cosmetic industry. </p> <p>Requirements are set by the state or territory where the business operates. Currently, cosmetic lasers are regulated only in Queensland, Tasmania and Western Australia. IPL devices are regulated only in Tasmania. </p> <p>Check the legislation in your state or territory, or visit the <a href="https://www.arpansa.gov.au/" target="_blank"> Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) </a>, the Australian Government’s primary authority on radiation protection and nuclear safety. </p>
