The TAFE NSW Bachelor of Property Valuation is the only specialist valuation degree in Australia. As a graduate, you will have the skills required to work in the property valuation industry across residential, commercial and other specialist areas. This degree is accredited by the Australian Property Institute, and graduates are eligible to apply for an Associate Level Membership with at least two years professional experience.

Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:
Engage with different property valuation techniques and processes
Analyse property legislation, regulation and legal precedents
Comply with current property law and accounting and taxation regulations
Undertake extensive property risk analysis
Interact with various industry experts
Develop specialist skills to gain an advantage in the job market
Graduate with a Bachelor Degree (AQF 7)
Eligibility to apply for a Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) certification through the Australian Property Institute (API) subject to your work experience
Strong client and stakeholder engagement skills to develop and maintain your portfolio
The skills to expertly value residential, commercial, rural and industrial properties and other areas of specialisation
Professional confidence to approach complex property valuation projects
This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol
A NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) or its equivalent or
A Certificate IV in Tertiary Preparation or its equivalent or
A completed certificate IV or higher vocational qualification
Submit a 500 word essay that shows your motivation to study and work in the property valuation industry
Attend a pre-admission interview where you may also be asked to complete a short literacy and numeracy task - this helps us to understand how we can support your study success and provide you with any necessary support
Your certificates, transcripts and other entry requirement evidence must be certified through a Justice of the Peace or other authorising officer
To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
An interest in the property market and different types of land usage
An interest in working with people from a wide range of backgrounds
The ability to explore ideas and think critically
An interest in a career that combines office hours and working in the field
The capability to create and write complex documents such as valuation reports
Mathematic skills at a Year 12 or equivalent level
If you are enrolled in the fully online version of this course you must have your own PC or laptop to access study materials and complete assessments.
You do not require an ATAR score for entry into this course.

A property valuer is a professional that provides a service to value almost every transaction of property – industrial, commercial, retail, office, rural, and residential. These require a valuation to be conducted. Property valuers are the unbiased source of truth when it comes to determining how much a property and its assets are actually worth. A property valuer follows a specific valuation methodology, holds relevant certifications, and academic professional qualifications.
Other jobs include: property valuer in government or private industry, property and asset manager, property market analyst, property sales and acquisitions and property developer.
To work as a professional in the Property Valuation industry, it is recommended you hold an Associate Level Membership and Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) certification. Graduates of this course are eligible to apply for an Associate Level Membership and CPV certification subject to your work experience to work as a professional property valuer.
