The Meadowbank Children’s Centre is a friendly and welcoming place with a long history. We support the whole development of each child and create a space where children and families can thrive.
Our educators have many years of experience and bring energy, creativity and care to work every day. Very low staff turnover creates a stable and nurturing space for children.
Our team comes from many different backgrounds and areas of expertise. This makes learning richer for children. Our director and several educators speak languages including Korean, Mandarin and Vietnamese. This helps create an inclusive and diverse environment.

Meadowbank Children’s Centre has many features that make it a great place for children.
At Meadowbank, we are proud of our thriving veggie patch. Children can garden and learn about how to care for the environment.
Outside, we also have a Yarning Circle. This is a special place for stories and cultural sharing.
We also have a community library and a free herbs station. This encourages sharing books and recipes, which promotes reading at home and building friendships.
We emphasise fresh, homemade meals with a no processed foods policy. We also use a progressive snack time approach. Children can choose when they feel ready to eat.
This helps children learn to listen to their bodies and make their own choices. Our educators enjoy seeing children try new foods and build healthy eating habits.
Our soulful centre is surrounded by large, shady trees and has been part of the community since 1998.
It was first created as a children’s centre for Aboriginal women. This allowed them to study while their children were safely looked after. This strong focus on support and female empowerment still guides our approach.
Every day our centre offers experiences that build children's creativity, independence and wellbeing. Set next to a train station, we’re an easy drop-off point on the morning commute.
What you can expect:
Entrance through the play area creates daily opportunities for families, children and educators to connect.
Weekly cooking activities with families invited to share recipes that reflect their cultural backgrounds.
Development of healthier eating habits.
Children’s packed lunches are warmed and served on plates to create a family-style meal experience and encourage conversation.
“Sending my child to your centre was the right decision. I really appreciate all the effort you’ve put into my child’s holistic development.”

We aim to make enrolment simple and enjoy showing families what makes our centre unique. Guided tours are available from 9:30 am to 11 am and from 3 pm onwards, and we can adjust times to suit busy families.
We can also support you through the application process in a dedicated space. This is especially helpful for families who speak English as a second language.
If you’re interested in joining us, we can send you an enrolment form or arrange a time to meet and get started.
You’re welcome to call 02 7921 6944 to ask about availability or submit an enquiry below.
If there are no vacancies, you can complete an Application for Care Form [PDF, 1.7 MB] and we can add you to the waiting list.
Please note: Children must meet government immunisation requirements or have an approved exemption to be eligible for Child Care Subsidy (CCS).
There are five steps to complete enrolment:
Once the enrolment is completed and approved your entitlements can be calculated, and payments made. If there are no vacancies, we can add you to the waiting list.
Under Family Assistance Law, all children attending an early learning centre must have an enrolment notice, regardless of CCS eligibility. For eligible families, Centrelink/Services Australia can only process CCS claims once the correct enrolment is in place.
