At Mount Druitt Children’s Centre, we support both children and their families to grow and thrive.
We’re proud to be a place where people feel welcome and included. Many families join us through word of mouth, and we have a strong waiting list. That tells us we’re getting it right.
Our team stays for the long term. This means your child sees the same familiar faces each day. It helps them feel safe and build strong relationships.
Some children arrive speaking little or no English. Within weeks, they feel settled, confident and able to communicate. Seeing this growth is one of the best parts of what we do.
If you're interested in joining our team of early childhood educators, see below.

We welcome children and families from all backgrounds. Our centre has the highest population of families in the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) across TAFE NSW Children’s Centres. We’re proud of this, because we see how it helps local migrant families with subsidised childcare while they study.
While many AMEP families choose us, everyone is welcome and encouraged to apply.
We have a strong connection to land and nature at our Mount Druitt Centre. Our vegetable garden is a big part of daily life, with a focus on bush tucker. Children help grow and pick fresh produce, then use it in simple cooking activities. It’s a great way for them to learn about healthy food. And families are always welcome to take some fresh produce home.
We also have a purpose-built yarning circle with stepping stones. It’s a calm, special space for storytelling and cultural exchange.
At Mount Druitt Children’s Centre, you’ll feel welcome from the moment you walk in. No two days are the same, because our program follows the children and what they enjoy.
We take the time to understand each child and family. This helps us shape daily routines that feel familiar and safe. Children are greeted with a smile and can settle in at their own pace.
Learning happens through play. Children explore, create and build friendships in ways that feel natural to them. We offer a mix of indoor, outdoor and nature-based experiences, along with quiet spaces when children need a break.
Our educators gently guide children toward activities they’re curious about. They might spend time in the garden, explore bush tucker, or join our Yarning Circle to share stories and connect with others.
Mealtimes are calm and flexible. We follow each child’s usual routine and respect different ways of eating. This helps children feel relaxed and at home. Families are always welcome to join us for lunch, too.
After lunch, children have time to rest and recharge, ready for more play and discovery in the afternoon.
“We are welcomed with open arms every time we come in to the TAFE NSW Mount Druitt Children’s Centre. I love how my daughter is cared for in a safe environment, with all the toys she loves to play with daily. I am so lucky to have educators that make a real difference in her start to life”.

We know how critical your child’s care is and how hard it can be to find the right centre. That’s why we offer one-on-one time with each family before enrolling, to take some of the stress out of this big step. We support families who speak other languages with interpreters and translated documents where possible.
If you’d like to join us, you can complete an Application for Care Form [PDF, 1.7 MB] and email it to us below. You can also reach out to discuss orientation days, organise a walk-through or meet and greet.
You’re welcome to call us on 02 7921 6779 to ask about availability, or submit an enquiry below. If there are no vacancies, we can add you to the waiting list.
Please note: Children must meet government immunisation requirements or have an approved exemption to be eligible for Child Care Subsidy (CCS).
There are five steps to complete enrolment:
Once the enrolment is completed and approved your entitlements can be calculated, and payments made. If there are no vacancies, we can add you to the waiting list.
Under Family Assistance Law, all children attending an early learning centre must have an enrolment notice, regardless of CCS eligibility. For eligible families, Centrelink/Services Australia can only process CCS claims once the correct enrolment is in place.
