TAFE NSW Wetherill Park Children’s Centre

    ""

    Overview

Located on campus at TAFE NSW Wetherill Park, our centre welcomes children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. Children play and learn in a large outdoor area. There's a fort, cubby house and plenty of play equipment to explore.

The centre also has a large garden where children can grow plants and learn about nature. These everyday experiences help children build new skills and discover how things change over time.

Inside, there are two learning spaces. One is for infants and toddlers 0–3 years, and the other is for preschool-aged children 3–6 years. These spaces ensure age-appropriate care and activities.

    About us

Our experienced educators help children learn and grow. They come from a range of backgrounds and bring different skills to our centre. We work closely with families to help every child feel safe, supported and valued.

Sensory play is a big part of our program. Children learn through activities that use touch, sight, smell and sound. These experiences help build movement, language and thinking skills while making learning fun.

We want every child to feel welcome and included. All children, including those with additional needs, can take part in our programs. Educators get to know each child and what they enjoy. They plan activities that build confidence, develop new skills and help children feel they belong.

    A typical day

    Play, learn and grow

Every day, children take part in fun activities that help them learn and grow. These may include water and sand play, block play, music, movement, art, simple science activities and imaginative play.

    Environments that inspire

Our learning spaces help children feel safe, happy and ready to learn. Children are grouped by age or stage of development. This helps educators plan activities that match each child's needs and interests.

    The magic of play-based learning

We take a play-based learning approach, blending intentional teaching with spontaneous learning moments. Through group activities, children can try new things and learn new skills in a safe and caring environment.

    Getting started

To start the enrolment process, you can:

We’ll then confirm receipt and add your child to our waiting list. When spots open up, we review all applications carefully and reach out to families with available days.

    Documents needed

To submit your application, you will need to provide:

    • Birth certificate
    • Medicare card
    • Health care/Pension card (if you have one)
    • Immunisation record (must be through Medicare, blue books are not accepted).

Please note: Children must meet government immunisation requirements or have an approved exemption to be eligible for Child Care Subsidy (CCS).

    How to enrol

There are five steps to complete enrolment:

    1. Apply for Child Care Subsidy (if eligible) - To be confirmed between the Early Childhood Director (ECD) and parents/guardians.
    2. Agree on care arrangements - The ECD and parent/guardian confirm the child’s care details.
    3. Submit enrolment - The ECD submits an enrolment notice to Centrelink via HubHello.
    4. Confirm enrolment - The parents/guardians verify the enrolment with Centrelink.
    5. Secure enrolment - If you accept an offer, we’ll send a formal letter detailing the next steps. This includes submitting a birth certificate, proof of immunisation and a security deposit to secure your childcare placement.

Once the enrolment is completed and approved your entitlements can be calculated, and payments made. If there are no vacancies, we can add you to the waiting list.

Under Family Assistance Law, all children attending an early learning centre must have an enrolment notice, regardless of CCS eligibility. For eligible families, Centrelink/Services Australia can only process CCS claims once the correct enrolment is in place.
