Completion requirements

During your study you’ll need to provide your teacher with the following evidence:

  • This course requires you to undertake practical assessments in a real health care facility. You'll be required to either travel to Sydney to complete the practical assessments at a TAFE organised workplace facility or source your own workplace facility. If you choose to source your own workplace facility, it will need to be approved by a TAFE assessor before you complete the assessment.

Entry recommendations

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

  • Experience working in the healthcare industry

  • Access to a healthcare facility or workplace to complete skills assessments

  • An interest in the health and medical industry

  • Empathy and patience to work with real-life patients

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask

  • Confidence using technology and workplace management systems

  • Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) at a Year 10 high school level

Units Units taught in this course

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Health Administration qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 15 units of competency, including 9 core and 6 speciality units.

Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
