    Entry requirements

    This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol.

    • Successful completion of the Certificate III in Music (Business) or Certificate IV in Music (Business) or an equivalent qualification, shown by a copy of your certificate or transcript, or

    • equivalent industry experience in music (business), shown by your resume and a portfolio of work, or

    • attend an interview via an online video platform such as Zoom or Teams.

    Completion requirements

    During your study you'll need to provide your teacher with the following evidence:

    • A Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills test and achieve a score of 4 across the 5 bands of literacy and 3 across one band of numeracy. This skills test helps us to understand your individual study needs and to provide you with the appropriate support for your study success.

    Entry recommendations

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

    • appreciation of a wide range of music or a deep knowledge of a specific genre

    • good time management skills to meet deadlines

    • the ability to research effectively

    • access to a personal computer and the internet

    • access to Microsoft Office or similar software

    • desire to be involved in music functions and attend live performances outside of class hours, including evenings and weekends

    • Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) at a Year 10 high school level.

    The following foundation skills:

    • You take charge of your learning and can finish tasks on time, by yourself.

    • You can read longer texts and understand their main ideas.

    • You can write longer paragraphs and texts that explain your ideas clearly.

    • You can join group talks and share your ideas clearly.

    • You can solve maths problems you often see in real life.

    • You can use email, search the internet and open files.

    Units taught in this course

    Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Diploma of Music (Business) qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 16 units of competency, including 4 core and 12 speciality units.
