Each course at TAFE NSW comes with academic and English language prerequisites. This ensures you bring the right level of skills and knowledge to your studies helping you to confidently pave the way to your success.
To apply for a course at TAFE NSW, you must meet all the entry requirements for your chosen course. There are two requirements you need to meet:

Academic entry requirements
Each TAFE NSW qualification has specific academic requirements. Please check your course to make sure you are eligible to enrol.
You can find your country's academic levels that are equivalent to an Australian Year 10 and Year 12 in the TAFE NSW International Academic Requirements by Country document. This document explains how these requirements correspond to vocational and higher education courses.
English language requirements
Each TAFE NSW qualification has a specific English requirement that is equivalent to an academic IELTS test score. Please check your course to make sure you are eligible to enrol and check the equivalent English language entry requirements.
Additional entry requirements
Some courses may have additional entry requirements including portfolios, skills assessments and questionnaires. These courses are listed on the additional entry requirements page.
