Find policies, procedures and forms about course progress and attendance. We want you to succeed, so we’ve put support strategies in place to help you throughout your studies.
As an international student, you must keep good attendance and make satisfactory course progress while you’re enrolled. This means meeting your course requirements and going to the classes on your timetable. We check your attendance and course progress under the National Code 2018.
These procedures explain how we check your attendance and progress, and what happens if you’re at risk. They explain how we support you through our intervention strategy.
These policies set out the rules around course progress and attendance. They guide how we support you to meet your study requirements and maintain your enrolment.
If you’re at risk of not meeting your course progress or attendance requirements, we will contact you. We’ll offer support and may ask you to complete an Intervention Strategy and Learning Agreement Form.
You must complete the form with your teacher and the International Customer Experience Coordinator (ICEC). This strategy supports students at risk and outlines how we help you stay on track with your studies.
If your progress does not improve, we may take further action. This could affect your enrolment and your student visa.
If you’re asked to attend an intervention strategy meeting with your course coordinator, you’ll talk about reducing your study load. To reduce your study load, download and submit the Reduction of Study Load - Higher Education Courses Form [PDF 145 KB]. Your course coordinator will help you complete the form.
At TAFE NSW, every international student has support from an International Customer Experience Coordinator (ICEC). Your ICEC can help you find the right support services and answer your questions.
