    Excellence among mature-aged students in TAFE NSW Maitland

    The Woolfson Encouragement Award recognises and supports mature-aged students studying for a business administration qualification at TAFE NSW Maitland. Liz Woolfson funds the $500 annual award through the Hunter TAFE Foundation to assist students in kickstarting their careers.

    As a teacher or head teacher, this presents an opportunity to celebrate a student who is over 30 years of age. The nominee must show strong commitment to studies, maintain exceptional attendance, and demonstrate motivation for entering or re-entering the workforce. Nominate a deserving diligent student for the Woolfson Encouragement Award.

    Who can you nominate?

    To be nominated for a Woolfson Encouragement Award, the student must:

    • be either a part-time or full-time student enrolled in Certificate II in Workplace Skills (BSB20120), Certificate III in Business (Medical Administration) (BSB30120) or Certificate IV in Business (Administration) ( BSB40120) at TAFE NSW Maitland in the year the award is offered
    • be a mature age student (that is, over 30 in the year the award is offered)
    • be motivated to work in the business administration sector
    • demonstrate commitment to their study and career goals. You can provide evidence of this by listing achievements or identifying their skills and strengths
    • be a good student and represent TAFE NSW and the Hunter TAFE Foundation well. You can provide evidence of this by sharing positive grades and attendance records, character traits, or values
    • not have received a scholarship from the Hunter TAFE Foundation for one year before 19 September 2025.
