    Entry recommendations

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

    • Reached at least 17 years of age so you are able to work in the industry serving alcohol at the completion of your course after you turn 18

    • Identified if you have any cultural considerations around serving alcohol as alternate speciality units can be made available to facilitate course completion

    • Good communication skills

    • A helpful and pleasant manner

    • A strong work ethic

    During your study, you'll need to meet specific requirements to complete your coursework. Your teacher will let you know when you need to provide evidence of:

      • A valid licence or proof of age card, to demonstrate that you are over 18 years of age
    • This is mandatory for the following electives:

      • Provide responsible service of alcohol (RSA)
      • Provide responsible gambling services (RCG)
    • Students are not required to be 18 years of age to complete the units, however it is recommended that students are no younger than 16 years of age. Students must be 18 years of age to work in licensed areas.

    • For students under 18, or for those with cultural considerations who cannot serve alcohol, alternate electives can be made available to facilitate completion.
