    To make sure this delivery option is the right fit for you, we will need you to demonstrate that you can meet the additional requirements below.

    To qualify for the Trade Pathways for Experienced Workers program, you must: 

    • Be 21 years or older at the time of enrolment as shown by your photo ID

    • Have at least 3 years of work experience in your trade including 12 months in Australia

    • Be currently working in the hospitality industry or have worked in it within the last 5 years

    • Not be a registered apprentice or trainee. If your apprenticeship was cancelled it must have ended more than 6 months ago

    • Not be in Smart and Skilled training and complete 3 units of competency through recognition of prior learning

    • Live or work in NSW.

    Entry recommendations

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

    • The ability to work in a high-pressure environment

    • The ability to work autonomously or as part of a team

    • Attention to detail and a love for food and flavours

    • The ability to provide your own chef's uniform and toolkit. Your teacher will provide you with a complete list before the start of class.

    • Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) at a Year 10 high school level

    • TAFE NSW may ask you to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills test.
