    Entry recommendations

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

    • reached at least 17 years of age so you can work in the industry serving alcohol once you turn 18

    • a passion for cafes, bars and hotels

    • an interest in working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment

    • the ability to work well in a team

    • good communication skills

    • Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills at a Year 10 high school level

    • identified any cultural considerations around serving alcohol, as alternate specialty units may be available.
