    Accessing software

    Once you've logged in to your TAFE NSW account and Student Hub, you can access a range of free software to help you during your studies. Whether you need to learn a new skill, create a professional slide deck or work on a group project from home. We have you covered.

    Microsoft 365

    When studying with us, you’ll have free, secure access to Microsoft 365 applications to complete coursework and communicate. Through the Microsoft 365 A5 Student Use Benefit you’re automatically entitled to the latest capabilities across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. These include:

    • OneDrive
    • Teams
    • Outlook
    • Word
    • Excel
    • Copilot
    • OneNote
    • PowerPoint

    OneDrive

    OneDrive allows you to seamlessly study at home and on campus. Think of it as your personal online file storage facility. You can keep all your work secure and access it easily from any device, anywhere.

    During your study, you’ll use OneDrive to:

    • share documents with your classmates and teachers
    • work collaboratively on projects in one secure place
    • access version history of your work
    • provide and receive feedback.

    Teams

    Microsoft Teams is where you’ll connect with your teachers and classmates. You can:

    • join live classes and tutorials
    • chat
    • share files
    • work together online.

    You’ll receive meeting invitations in Teams and Outlook throughout your course.

    Outlook

    Microsoft Outlook is where you’ll manage your TAFE NSW email and calendar. It's important to regularly check Outlook to:

    • receive updates and important messages from your teachers
    • see your schedule and get reminders for upcoming classes
    • email and stay in touch with teachers and other students.

    Access Microsoft applications

    Join a Teams meeting or tutorial, manage your emails, store and share your work easily with Microsoft applications. Take a look at our guide to Access Microsoft applications.

    There is no need to download Microsoft applications to your device as they are available through the Student Hub. To access, you’ll need to:

    1. Log in to Student Hub
    2. Go to Tools
    3. Click on the application tile you wish to use.

    Adobe

    All TAFE NSW locations are Adobe Creative Campuses. Whatever course you choose, you’ll have free access to all Adobe Creative Cloud applications for the duration of your study.

    Get started with Adobe Express

    Adobe Express is an easy-to-use, web and mobile design application, best for simple content creation.

    It’s a great place to start for beginners, as it includes:

    • AI-powered design tools
    • Firefly image creation and
    • a huge variety of templates.

    Create engaging and professional-looking presentations, posters, or infographics with ease. Follow the Adobe Express tutorials to help you get started.

    Progress to Adobe Creative Cloud

    Adobe Creative Cloud is the full professional toolbox for creative courses and industries. It’s best for designers and users with some experience, as it lets you create more complex or higher-quality creative work.

    Adobe applications include:

    • Acrobat
    • After Effects
    • Animate
    • Photoshop (photo editing)
    • Illustrator (vector graphics)
    • Premiere Pro (video editing)
    • InDesign (layout and publishing)
    • After Effects
    • Lightroom

    These are the tools used by designers, marketers, content creators, and businesses globally.

    Accessing Adobe applications

    To access Adobe applications, you’ll need to install them onto your device and use your student login to access. Find out how below.

    LinkedIn Learning

    At TAFE NSW, we believe in lifelong learning. That’s why you’ll have access to free training videos and courses taught by industry experts on LinkedIn Learning.

    To access LinkedIn Learning:

    1. Log in to the Student Hub
    2. Go to tools
    3. Click on the LinkedIn Learning tile.

    TAFE Virtual Desktop

    TAFE Virtual Desktop (TVD) gives you the same experience on your computer as a TAFE campus computer. Access your course resources, Microsoft 365, Adobe and other required software from home.
