Downloading software

    Once you have logged in to your TAFE NSW account and Student Hub, you can access a range of software to help you during your studies.

    Download software

    When studying at TAFE NSW, you’ll have access to Microsoft 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud. 

    Applications in the Microsoft 365 suite include:

    • Teams
    • Word
    • Excel
    • PowerPoint. 

    Adobe Creative Cloud software includes:

    • Acrobat
    • After Effects
    • Animate
    • Illustrator
    • InDesign
    • Lightroom
    • Photoshop
    • Premiere Pro. 

    To use these programs, you’ll need to download and install them on your personal device. 

    Access Microsoft 365

    During your course, you’ll need to collaborate with other students and teachers via the Microsoft 365 application suite. To get started, you’ll need to log in or create an account using your TAFE NSW details.

    To access your account, you'll need to:

    • open a web browser, such as Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox

    • go to Microsoft 365

    • click on the sign in button and sign in with your TAFE NSW login details (e.g. jane.smith3@studytafensw.edu.au) and click NEXT button

    • when prompted to sign in with your TAFE NSW account, enter your TAFE NSW username (e.g. jane.smith3)

    • enter the passwordyou were issued when you enrolled

    • click the ‘log in’ button.

    Access Outlook

    Outlook is an app in the Microsoft 365 suite that allows you to check your TAFE NSW email. It's important to regularly check your TAFE NSW email account to ensure:

    • you have the latest updates and information from your teachers
    • access to the Outlook calendar function which will alert you to upcoming tutorials
    • connection with your fellow students and teachers.

    To access your email

    Log in to www.microsoft365.com via your internet browser and then find the Outlook app tile or

    Log in to your TAFE NSW Student Hub and click on the Outlook tile.

    Join a Teams meeting

    Microsoft Teams is an application that allows you to connect to your teacher and class using video calls, chat and file sharing. During your studies, you may receive a meeting invitation to join a Microsoft Teams meeting.

    How to join a Teams meeting

    • Click on the link to the Teams meeting when it’s due to start or you receive a notification.
    • You can join on the web using your browser or using the Teams app.

    You can download the Outlook and Teams apps on your mobile device. Sign in to receive notification and join Teams meetings from your phone. 

    Use OneDrive

    OneDrive is a file-hosting service that lets you back up your files. It also lets you share documents with your classmates, other students, teachers and/or other TAFE NSW team members.

    To get started with OneDrive, you’ll need to:

    1. Log in to Student Hub

    2. Go to Tools

    3. Click on the OneDrive tile.

    Get started with Adobe

    TAFE NSW students get free access to the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite, even if your course doesn’t require it. You can use Adobe to design assignments, edit videos or explore your creativity.

    Adobe Express

    Create presentations, posters, flyers, videos, and more with Adobe Express.

    To get started, you’ll need to:

    Follow the Adobe Express tutorials to help you get started.

    Adobe Creative Cloud

    As a TAFE NSW student you’ll get access to Creative Cloud for:

    • graphic design

    • video editing

    • web development

    • photography activities.

    To get started, visit Adobe Creative Cloud and sign in. You will be taken to the TAFE NSW log in page and be asked to enter your TAFE NSW log in details.

    Access LinkedIn Learning

    Your student account gives you access to free training videos and courses taught by industry experts on LinkedIn Learning.
    To access LinkedIn Learning:

    1. Log in to the Student Hub.

    2. Go to tools.

    3. Click on the LinkedIn Learning tile.
