This offer CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care has entry requirements. Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who:

• hold a CHC30113 or CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

There are no materials needed for this qualification.

A minimum of 280 hours of work placement in a regulated Education and Care Service in Australia is required for this qualification. The work placement will be arranged by the TAFE NSW in partnership with the service and implemented within the student’s program to enable consolidation, reflection, improvement and assessment to occur. A student may already have access to a regulated Education and Care service through paid or voluntary employment. This can be assessed by TAFE NSW for suitability for the student to complete their placement.

A valid Working with Children Check will be required by the Education and Care Service. The Service and/or some locations may also have additional requirements such as vaccination and Police Checks. Students will be notified of specific requirements prior to placement. Please note: There are currently COVID 19 vaccination requirements for volunteers and employees in the Education and Care Sector. Work placement is an opportunity to learn on the job and complete assessment requirements and often leads to employment and/or promotion opportunities."

This part time evening (18 month course) is 2 nights per week program for 54 delivery weeks. This is generally across 6 school terms with term breaks. It would be best suited to a learner who is able to commit to evening classes in a Microsoft Teams virtual classroom study. This delivery can easily be coupled with work in the education and care sector, or other employment or commitments.

If this does not sound like you, we have other delivery options that may better suit you. Students will require regular access to, and have the ability to use a computer and internet. This could either be your personal device or can be accessed at your local campus.
