Carlos left El Salvador with little English or formal qualifications. With the support of TAFE NSW and the Tertiary Preparation Certificate (TPC), it took just 18 months to gain a Tertiary Entrance Score of 300/300 (equivalent to 99.5 ATAR).
He says the TAFE NSW course and teachers helped him gain the skills and confidence to reach his potential - he's getting top marks in his economics degree: "What I learned at TAFE NSW certainly helped me, especially calculus and argumentative skills!"
